Hi Jason, thanks for your opinion :) Sure this example is quite dumb and could be done in much simpler way. Same goes to your reference to "bootcrap" -> however this article was not meant to teach styling. This article was meant to explain how React does not like firing events and adding stuff to DOM based on some selectors like Vanilla JS and other frameworks like to do. You do not have to use this solution if you do not like it. In fact you do not event have to use other frameworks. But I am really sorry for the developers that will maintain the project after you leave (especially if it is big and complex project) :)
